Sides to go with BBQ pork

We're invited to dinner where the hostess is making pork tenderloin. I've been assigned the side dish. It's got to be vegetable, not potato, pasta or rice, or salad. I'm thinking green beans, or asparagus. We all hate Brussels Sprouts so forget that. I've been searching through recipes like crazy but it's got to be something I can prepare ahead of time and that's easy to bring over. |

Braised cabbage. I make mine with sliced onions and unpeeled red apples. Here's another recipe I've been meaning to try: Green beans are also a good pick. |

Well, I would go with fresh green beans, tossed with dried cranberries. Light butter, tossed with Jane's crazy mixed up salt. I also like carrots with light brown sugar glaze, orange zest, and fresh grated nutmeg or ginger. |

Buttered beets. They will look great on the plate and people will realize how much they like beets when they don't come from the nasty little can. Trim ends of off fresh beets. Boil in salted water. Remove and peel skin off just like you would do a sweet potato that is being skinned. Chop into interesting bite sized pieces, add big blob of salted butter, fresh pepper and saute lightly in bottom of pan you used for boiling until well covered. Re-heat at dinner in microwave. |

Homemade apple sauce! I love apple sauce with pork & homemade apple sauce is really easy! |
